  • Assoc. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Nguyen Tien Hoa’s research focuses on the modeling and optimization of wireless communication systems, with an emphasis on signal processing, resource allocation, and system control. His theoretical work investigates how optimization and machine learning techniques can enhance the performance and adaptability of complex multiuser networks and large-scale MIMO systems. On the technological side, his research extends to programmable software-defined radio (SDR) platforms that bridge algorithmic design with experimental validation. He develops and evaluates testbed systems supporting integrated sensing and communication (ISAC), where radar and RF signals are jointly exploited for both data transmission and environmental perception. These testbeds serve as a foundation for algorithm verification, real-world performance measurement, and practical deployment in future networks. In the context of evolving 5G and 6G architectures, Dr. Hoa addresses core challenges such as resource optimization, low-latency design, and communication efficiency to enable reliable connectivity and real-time sensing. His research also explores how communication infrastructures support the deployment of distributed and edge artificial intelligence (edge AI), based on edge computing platforms, serving as the backbone for learning, inference, and coordination among intelligent agents. Overall, by combining optimization theory with SDR-based experimentation, Dr. Hoa contributes to the realization of AI-native 6G communication systems, where communication, sensing, and computation are unified to support autonomous and efficient networked environments.
